Experience behind the questions.
The experience behind The Loan Yard spans more than ten years in mortgage lending and fintech, including lending operations, sales and partnerships. That experience shapes the questions in our guides: what the financing costs, what secures it, who is eligible and how repayment fits the purchase.
This website is an educational resource for consumers and small businesses. It is not a lender, and this version does not take applications or arrange a loan. The experience described here does not represent that The Loan Yard holds a current lending or brokerage license.
What our guides help you do.
Compare financing categories, define the complete purchase budget, understand important terms and prepare questions for a contractor, equipment seller or finance provider. Residential and commercial equipment guides are separate because the intended use can change eligibility.
How we prepare content.
We use official consumer resources and provider documentation where appropriate, link to sources and label illustrative payment examples. Provider examples are not endorsements or a complete market comparison. Guides can be drafted with AI assistance; they should not replace your own review of current lender disclosures and written purchase agreements.
Our calculator models a fixed-rate installment loan. Its inputs are examples, not advertised rates, typical purchase prices or an eligibility estimate. Our disclosures explain its limitations.
Our research and review standards.
- Use government consumer guidance and program documentation for financing concepts; identify commercial sources when they provide price context.
- Keep reference prices, local quotes and original payment calculations separate. A source’s range is not a promise about your purchase.
- Check source links and example calculations when updating a guide. The review date describes our check, not an independent certification.
- Show the limits of calculators and comparisons, including excluded fees, collateral and eligible-use questions.
- Identify paid relationships beside any future offer. Compensation will not turn a general guide into a complete market survey.
Corrections and changing terms.
Program eligibility, pricing and availability can change after a guide is reviewed. Confirm current details with the provider and your local program administrator. Use our Contact Us form to flag an inaccurate statement or broken source link; include the page address and the item to check, without sending financial documents.
How this site may earn revenue.
No affiliate referral links or paid lender placements are active in this version. If referral partnerships are added, we will identify the relationship beside the relevant offers and update our disclosures.
Questions or corrections.
